About Controls Group Incorporated...
What do Dow Jones, the Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune,
Florida Sun-Sentinel, Le Figaro, Ouest France and other major newspapers
have in common? They have all installed and are running CGI digital ink
injectors. CGI digital inkers are also installed on Man Roland towers,
WIFAG presses, KBA presses, and retrofits on all of the major press line
in use.
CGI was started in 1985 with the mission of changing the way ink was
delivered; to eliminate the need for open fountains and the attendant
difficulties of waste, maintenance and inaccuracy. From that small
beginning and big idea, CGI has evolved into an international supplier
of digital inking injector solutions for conversions and as specified on
original equipment that fulfill the promise of the founder’s stated
goals. The founders remain today, committed to the advancement of
injector inking as the cost-reducing alternative to open fountain
inking.
CGI is located in a modern 25,000 square foot facility in Rockford,
Illinois, central to air and surface transportation for shipments both
within and outside the United States. All assemblies are fabricated in
the facility with over 2,000 page packs, for double width presses, built
and shipped each year.
Also housed in the Rockford location is the CGI engineering staff. They
are all well known within the industry, and with the founders, represent
scores of years of ink train experience. The core competency of CGI is
to survey, analyze, engineer and then present to the customer the most
efficient ink train system available today. CGI combines its’
engineering expertise with an array of product, developed for high speed
or low speed inking, injector page packs and control consoles or
keyboards, to give the customer the most value with the highest ROI.
