QuikSet™
CGI is proud to announce the introduction of QuikSet™ which was
designed as a stand-alone product intended to provide Computer-to-Plate
(CTP) press sites with the means to automate their press preset process.
This ensures that Zero-Make-Ready (ZMR) waste figures are approachable
even for sites without a complex control desk. QuikSet™ analyzes the
RIP files, matches them to plate positions, mathematically adjusts the
values, and presets the ink and water positions quickly and
transparently. Minimal user involvement is required to produce exacting
press presets, day after day, run after run. This is Very Cost Effective
when the remote features of a console are not absolutely required.
QuikSet™ Features:
- Stand alone, requires no Press Control Console to operate.
- May work in addition to any manufacturer’s PCS console currently
installed on site.
- Provides preset capability to any paper using CTP markup front
end. If you build a RIP for your image setters, we can use it to
preset your Ink and Water.
- Works from TIFF, EPS or PDF type files.
- Analyzes the RIP image to deduce columnar dot density ratios for
each zone.
- Analyzed results are scaled by mathematical delta parameters and
then sent to ink management equipment.
- Artificially intelligent, it watches how operators set ink, over
time, and will learn user desired density patterns. User may elect
to have QuikSet™ self-modify its behavior during this learning.
- Ethernet based, communicates directly with CGI systems.
- Lower initial costs when compared to complete Press Control
Console.
- Existing CGI sites can easily be retrofitted with the QuikSet™
technology.
- All hardware and software supplied is installed as a turnkey
system.
- Equipment-based and Material-based Deltas allow in-depth control
of inking.
- Will control 6 to 40 columns or zones of inking either single
stroke or MicroDwell.
- Handles dummy plates, double-truck negatives and re-burn indexing.
- Provides simple Drag and Drop rescan capabilities.
- Offers built-in system communication diagnostics.
