MORTONS OF HORNCASTLE LIMITED
INSTALL A NEW MAN ROLAND UNISET 75 PRESS WITH CGI DIGITAL INKERS
Rockford, Illinois – 30 March 2006 Controls Group Inc. (CGI)
announces the start of installation for a new Man Roland Uniset 75
outfitted with CGI digital inkers. Man Roland and CGI are
installing the new press jointly. CGI will also be responsible,
with Man Roland, for start up and commissioning. The unique aspect
of this project is the configuration of three, eight column-wide,
CGI page packs creating a 24 column inking system for this
high-speed narrow web offset press. Commercial production is
slated for early April 2006.
Mortons of Horncastle Limited start printing the News in 1885 and
introduced mechanical typesetting in 1901. In order to keep pace
with color requirements and volume for their many publications,
Mortons purchased the new UniSet 75 from Man Roland while
expressly requesting CGI digital inkers. CGI and Man Roland have
worked together on a number of projects enabling Mortons to
purchase and now install the new press with their desired
specifications.
